Older KH24" Model question

I’ve scored an older KH24" thats like new. I’ve not seen one like it on here, its got a semi-circle ‘brace’ welded under the crown.

My question is, what are the two little metal tubes welded ontop of each corner of the crown for? Are they for some old type of hydro brake??

Heres a pic of one just like it. Is it a 2006 model?

I believe that is the 2005 model with the KH/Onza hub/crankset.

The two metal tubes on the frame are “noodles” that were designed to make it so you had more grip on the frame when doing one footed tricks or other tricks that require you to have your foot on the frame.

Yup. Noodles.

indeed, noodles. They were superceed by a knurled finish on the cross piece. Yours is the 2005 model.

Cool. Thanks guys. I’ll not hesitate stomping on those noodles for more grip - just as soon as I master riding it first without UPD’s.

Oh, and confirmed, KH/Onza hub & cranks, so 2005, thanks again.
