They are very cool, that’s what. I recall seeing them on telly a while back; the riders (?) were gliding effortlessly around, doing spins, slides, going backwards… imagine transportation and Swan Lake at the same time.

I want one…

That is one sweet hovercraft. Although it is on the pricey side, i’d rather buy a uni. Or alot of uni’s, or maybe a hover uni.

Yeah, Hammacher Schlemmer is the place to go when you have more money than you know what to do with, and don’t care about spending two or three times as much as you would anywhere else.

The coolest thing in their online catalog (well, the thing that I want) is their Briefcase Theremin.

Scroll down to No. 2, and there’s an MPEG clip (a bit large, so a slow download) of the “Airboard” in action.

Pretty silly. Contemporary George Jetson going to work.

Apparently, the company’s out of New York, but the hovercrafts are built in Australia.

Notice that the site is FULL of safety regulations, none of which are upheld in the company’s own photos and video!

Like this one: “riders must refrain from riding close to where spectators are standing or walking”… well, just watch the video.

Oh, yeah… turn your volume way down before you watch the video!
