There have been a couple of offensive new members attacking threads on this forum. Please do not respond to their posts. The moderators will not remove the threads unless they are spam or have been started with offensive intent and are not unicycling related. The reported threads all have unicycling content and the moderators will not remove individual posts from the threads. The administrator will deal with the problem eventually.
Usually, kids like these get bored quickly because they have very brief attention spans. They will probably find some other equally non-productive and childish mischief soon.

One of the advantages of this newsgroup (as opposed to some newfangled forum
thingy ;-)) is that killfiling is easy.
It’s just as easy to set those users to be ignored and not shown to you on the web based forums.
In any case, I have banned this person which was posting under the names TheOrignalClart and Grogboy and made it where he can’t post from his accounts (if he did end up to get past the ban). I have also deleted all posts by both these usernames.
If this person does come back, or there are any other future trolls like this, please just ignore them and not reply to their posts. Instead click the report post to moderator link so that they can be quickly banned.

Good move, but to my regret I still can see posts from both of them under
threads like:
who likes me
anit-unicycle townies
a song by weird al…
However if they manage to post no more that will be nearly as good Thanks
again
They appear to be unicyclists but I would be happy to give them that extra
wheel…somewhere.
I suspect that no activity these days is ever free from these no-brains, and
they will seek to demonstrate this, as only they can do, at any opportunity.
They don’t annoy me, I just wonder how little actually happens in their
heads, it intrigues me just how different two examples of the same species
can be. Do they actually know, I wonder, how thick and stupid they seem to
the rest of us?
I was thinking about it today, and saw it a different way.
That Grogboy allegedly tried to learn and failed - and then like some
envious ex-girlfriend, he stalked us and harrassed us.
He heckled us the same way some people heckle celebrities!
I see his jealousy as a compliment.
Just imagine how much you would have to care to join a forum
for a sport you can’t do, spend time opening accounts, reading
threads and harrassing members - without the benefits of learning
from others (like the true members do). The fact that he worked
so hard at it - only shows that he cared that much . . .
Anybody notice how some of these newbies speak without periods and they use bad grammer alot once I was looking at a theard and I saw all these typos oh my god I hate typos jeez I wish they would use periods did anybody else notice this or am I dumb
Yes, I agree, proper punctuation is very nice. The correct use of commas and periods made reading someone else’s post much more pleasant. And yet… (insert major sarcasm)
You are a better man than I. From what I read, this boy Scott was mostly trying to be annoying to his schoolmate (not mate) Joe. He didn’t care a whit about the rest of us. Give him a can of spray paint instead, and he’d probably make his whole neighborhood look like a slum.
For us community members, the correct thing to do is ignore him (and block him). If it were a local community thing, like physical neighbors, I think more drastic steps would be appropriate.
But definitely, as mscalisi said, if trolls come along, we should not feed them. It’s worse than replying to spam posts that find their way in here. Pretend the person is on the same street corner with you. Would they deserve a (civil) response then, or would you walk away?
