Off of the Coker commuter for a day

I’ve been commuting by Coker almost every day since this summer except those days when it rains. I don’t like riding fast with wet pedals and shoes…even grippy pedals.

A few days ago, as I stood on the pedals holding the crosswalk sign at the entrance to campus (about a nine foot reach) I heard a sweet voice call out, “hey, buddy.” I looked along the line of traffic on 45th street and there was a carload of girls with one leaning way out the window with a camera. She repeated, “hey buddy, smile.” I quickly replied, “don’t you mean hey, stud, smile?” She politely responded, “oh, yeah, hey stud, smile.” I gave her the cheeziest grin I could muster.

It rained today so I didn’t ride the Coker, I rode my bike. I had forgotten how fast and easy it is to ride a bike to work. And how pedestrian. There was no real effort to riding in. There was also no carload of coeds.

See you in a week. I’m flying into the eye of the Hurricane. New Orleans, here I come.

why?
what’s wrong on other days that a carload of girls can’t make u smile?

I’ve stopped riding my unicycle in public due to being swarmed with girls.

Ah, 'tis a tough life…

Phil, just me

Cycled to the State Fair, just a few blocks from work. All the suits and skirts mosey down out of the office buildings for lunch to get 'em some of that holesome fair fare. I stoped by the petting zoo, road through the stables, then picked my way through the throng of pedestrians. As I a passed a couple skirts, one says to the other ‘Dork.’ the other cut sultry eyes in my direction and said, ‘Ya? I gotta get me some Dork, then.’
