re:NUC 2000

Thanks for the update on NUC 2000. Do you have any idea how many people can be
housed in the Dorms? Do you have dorm prices? Will the camping be on Campus or
nearby campgrounds? We are starting our commitments to NUC and need to know
financially how much to expect this is going to cost especially when we need to
include airfare. Suggustion for volunteers: check with the local schools,
rotary, boy or girls scouts, church groups and senior centers.

Jacquie and I will be going. Don’t know if anyone else from this local area will
be going, but a lot of us will be going to China.

We also plan to do Monday and Tuesday after NUC at Cedar Point. We hope others
will join us at the world’s best ride park. We will head there Monday after the
last event is over (and a shower), and probably stay overnight in one of Cedar
Point’s hotels.

Cedar Point’s new roller coaster (their 14th) will be 310 feet high, by far the
highest on Earth!

Enter all the races and “field” events you can do. The emphasis on those events
is still on “fun”. Enter an artistic event if you’ve put an act together. If you
bring a camera, make sure you have plenty of film (or memory cards). Don’t be
afraid to go up and talk to anybody, even if they look like really good riders.
Help out. If you’re not racing, see if they need timers or something.

A: Find someone who has a room booked in the Adrian area. Offer them lots of
money for their hotel room.
B: Call all the hotels in the area. Maybe they have a room or two in reserve,
and they’ll make a deal with you (if you offer enough).
C: Bring a car, and be prepared to drive a long way back and forth each day.

I did a search on Expedia.com a while ago, and they listed no rooms available
anywhere in the Adrian area. But this probably doesn’t include all the local mom
& pops though.

Dorms aren’t so bad. You’ll get a taste of how unicycle meets were in the
70’s and 80’s.
