Nothing A Do About Unicycling

Anyone know much about computer parts: such as motherboards and cpu’s/processors? I want to get a mother board and a processor and I’m not sure what’s good and what’s not and I could use a little help, I have nowhere else to turn but here. :frowning: Well, help me pleeeeease. :astonished:

This suppose to be in a Computer Club Website that is available now as we speak. There a people who will help you and I work with Computers, so I don’t know what situation are we talking about now. They change monthly that technology changes Monthly. Are we talking about Pentium 1, 2, 3, or 4. Currently we up to 3GHZ with Microsoft XP Home/Professional with 256MB Memory with DVD, 80GB Hard drive 17’ Monitor with USB Ports at the Front of the ATX Case. The best Motherboard I found is a Gigabyte, ASUS, Intel, and MSI. The Processor I only do deal with is Intel & Celeron. AMD I’m not against with nor I’m a fan of it.
Nothing wrong with AMD. With me is I’m Careless with that product and I not much Familier with it. I had a Customer the other day who hates AMD and he told me that the processor had fried up in less than a month old. So we swap the motherboard to an Intel and he was happy with it. There’s computer shops in your area that will help you and don’t be afraid of going in the shop. They there to help you. Hope that is sufficent what you need mate and good luck. Use the Search engine to find Computer Clubs in your area. Google is the best.

Couldn’t you just get a board from your mother?

Re: Re: Nothing A Do About Unicycling

HAHAHAH! No, my madre’s being a ya and won’t give me money for shiot. I’ve had five dollars in my wallet for about a week and a half now and my friend owes me ten or I’m gonna mess him up bad, I’m serious. I’m trying to get a job but no one’s hiring so I’m like screw you guys, I’m going home. And here I am, home everyday, well, at one of my homes that is, and I’m either playing a game, surfing the net, or chattin’ on AIM. Life sucks. I’m gonna run away, yup, me and my unicycle. HAH! I wish. Well, I’m gonna go sit on the stairs and see if any of my two friends call me, so yeah, LABTYD.

thats a good one! :stuck_out_tongue:

AnandTech and Tom’s Hardware Guide are two good sites where you can get information and reviews about mother boards and CPUs.

The AMD CPUs work well. I have an AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz and it has done a fine job. If I was to get a new computer right now I might go for the new Pentium 4 with HyperThreading just for the geek factor (it would be fun to play with a computer that behaved like it had two CPUs), but the new Pentium 4’s are quite expensive. If I was going for bang for the buck I’d go for an AMD Athlon.

If you’re looking to reuse existing hardware like memory and such you’ll want to make sure the new motherboard will let you use the old memory. Depending on what you have right now you may have to also upgrade to a new type of memory.

When you get your new computer running with the fancy new CPU, come join our Folding@Home team to give your new CPU something to do. We’re team #13392 and team name CPUniCycles. Folding@Home is a distributed computing project that is folding proteins for the advancement of science. Research in protein folding will help advance research in Alzheimer’s, Mad Cow Disease, and other diseases that result from the misfolding of proteins. More information about the project is available at the Folding@Home home page. To join the team just download the client, pick a user name (with no spaces), and plug in team #13392 and you’ll be folding for Team CPUniCycles.
