Norco Uniycles

Does anyone have any experience or ever seen a unicycle produced by the Norco
Bicycle company. They produce both a 20" and 24".

I have one of their mid range mountain bikes which appears to be constructed
well and good value but have not actuall laid eyes on their unicycles except for
the pictures on their web page which don’t give any detail.

Mark.

Norco doesn’t actually make anything, they’re a distributor. Their unicycle come
from the same factory as the Cycle Pro, Cycle Design, or Savage. Parts are
interchangeable, so it’s hard to know what kind of seat or fork you will get.

Avoid any seat with metal bumpers (unless it’s a DM Ringmaster). Avoid forks
with the two bolts screwed into the side of the round tubing, and the big round
bearing holder that goes with it.

Here’s a picture of a Cycle Design uni that has a better seat and fork:

RE: Norco Uniycles

I recently purchased a 20" from bruans.com. It took about a month to ship to
here (San Diego). As far as the quality of the uni, I haven’t really had a
chance to beat the heck out of it yet. Though I can say that the seat and the
pedals are horrible. I’ve never actually tried the since I purchased a Myata
seat with the uni, but the seat that came standard look cheap like it would only
take a few falls. The pedal look similar to the pedals from an '80’s schwinn,
but the bearing cover fall off instantly.

The uni itself seems strong enough for street work, but I would consider it for
much muni. Also, it’s all steel. So, It’s heavy. The 20" it a little heavier
than my Myata 24", but for about $100 (Am) it’s definitely a better set-up than
the Cycle Pro.

RE: Norco Uniycles

On a similar note, I bought 13 year old daughter a 20" Cycle
Design about 8 months ago thinking that she may or may not get
really interested in unicycling. (This is what I get for so
little faith.) Now I really wish I had sprung for the Miyata. It
simply is not holding up as well as it should. As usual, you get
what you pay for. John
