Noob wish list...

Dear Santa:
This is a little wish list for this year…I think I have been a good boy so I expect to see all this under my christmas tree:
-A good quality unicycle: either a 20" or 24", I’m 5’7", 29" inseam, 160 lbs (just in case you forgot!), Torker? Sun? Cheapo from ebay?
-Some good helmet and gloves and shinguards…you decide which ones cause I have no clue what to select (I do have a bike helmet, but not cool and round…)
-A seat…I hear these unicycles are hard and my tenders will hurt so choose one for me that will be comfy so I can ride it well.
-Patience…I know I will get frustated and eventually will want to throw this s$%&* in the trash…
-Lots of bandaids and neosporin…
-A website link with lots of videos on how to learn to ride this and to do some tricks (remeber I will use it on the street only for now and maybe some flat dirt roads)
-And lastly but more important a friendly soul from Unicyclist.com that will be able to provide me info on all this before you go and spend a lot of money (in case North Pole is running short of unicycles…) and help you select which will be the best uni for me to learn!

Thank you Santa!
P.S. I will put the milk and cookies as usual under the tree, do you want gingerbread or just sugar cookies???

I wish people would post unicycling threads in the unicycling forum.

It is just conversation…

Yes but this is supposed to be just for talking about non unicycle related stuff.

I would recommend a 20". If you are planning on sticking with it then get a Nimbus or a Kris Holms. I have never used gloves and rarely shin guards. Your helmet should be just fine for now. Plastic pedals hurt a lot less than metal, though if you do get shin guards it shouldn’t matter.

Ok thanks for the info. Well I can’t move the thread to the proper area so then if a moderator could move it, will be great…or delete the post (which I can’t either do that…), but thanks for the info

You don’t need the medical supplies. Your current bone dome is fine, gloves are great, any cyling gloves are fine, they save scratches and abrasions on the hands, some people worry about wrist protection though.

Just remember to timetable in two half hour sessions a day for the first month to get past that ‘can I really do this?’ hump.

And look out for another rider - magic/juggling clubs in the area?

Good luck and go hard
