I’m off the uni again for at least 3 weeks. Yesterday, I had surgery on the thumb I shattered in October to attempt to regain some range of motion. The doctor had to literally cut the scar tissue from the tendons. Now I’ve got a hand that resembles something from a Frankenstien movie , but the chances for a good recovery look promising. I’ll post a pic if anybody that likes to see that kind of thing
Was that a uni injury?
Nope, it was work related. My worst uni injuries have only been “pedal bites”
Glad the surgery went well, Kenny.
It looks like you won’t really miss much riding since it has been raining several inches every day and isn’t stopping for at least a couple of days. Can you row a boat?
Good luck on a fast recovery and a more useful thumb.
Scott
I’ll echo Scott, glad the surgery went well. Good luck with the recovery Kenny.

Go on post a pic!
O.K. pete, here it is
Here’s the other side
Thanks Frank and Scott:) Scott, the boat rowing is out if the question
Glad to hear it went well… I’ll try to ride a bit more to make up for your lack of riding during the healing process Once you’re ready to go again, let me know! Happy healing!
Ouch! Frankenstein indeed. Also, what is the advantage of staples over regular stitches (aside from looking more gnarly)?
I really don’t have an answer for that, I’ll ask my physical therapist tomorrow and see if she can tell me the advantages
Thanks Matt, After only 2 days of p.t. I’ve already got about 50% of my range of motion back
Glad to here of the increased ROM. Here’s to praying for you speedy recovery. --chirokid–
