no respect

Last night I was practicing trials in a park, trying to move my way around a
picnic table. I was wearing a brightly coloured cycling shirt, so was rather
visible. A 5 or 6 year old child ran into the park, towards me, laughing and
shouting, “look at the clown, look at the clown, look at the clown!!!”

Unfortunately I chose that moment to fail on my attempt to bunnyhop onto the
park bench seat, and fell flat on my face. The child swerved towards me,
shouted, “Looks like you need a bit of practice, mister,” and ran off.

Oh well, it’s the price of obscurity I suppose.

That stuff always happens with an audience.

We’re working on it. Someday you’ll be “the” Kris Holm, chased by women, hounded
by reporters, and scrutinized at all hours by paparazzi!

Stay on top,

RE: no respect

Kris is already getting international recognition.

I was riding last weekend on some trails near Kirkland Washington and there was
a group of mountain bikers trying to ride over a pile of logs that had been
setup near the trail. When one of the riders saw me he told me about this guy he
saw up in Canada doing trials riding on a unicycle. He even did a little
animated routine showing how this guy was hopping his unicycle over things and
zipping down ladders.

Pretty soon we’ll all be riding under the shadow of “the” Kris Holm.
