Sorry to bother you again with my “what uni should I buy questions.”
It seems I have more money available for a new unicycle than I thought. I can spend about 200$. As I said in the thread about the LX, I want a 24" unicycle for freestyle, general riding, and light muni. I am considering either the Torker DX 24" from eBay or the Nimbus II 24" from unicycle.com http://www.unicycle.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=742 , probably the Nimbus.
So has anyone had any experience with the Nimbus?
Does it have a good strong rim?
Also, I see it has 2.5 inch tire. Would a tire of that width make freestyle easier or harder? (I usually use a 1.75")
Just briefly-
Nimbii are superb machines (as long as you’re not doing high drops, in which case you’ll need a splined set-up).
Do a search of the board using ‘nimbus’ and you’ll find loads of stuff about them.
For muni, consider getting a bigger tyre eg 3" contra/duro/leapard.
Yeah Nimbus are great. They feel pretty solid. The cranks are the weak point i think. So if you’re not going to go splined, i’d say spend an extra 30-40 ona good pair of cotterless cranks.
Well, I ordered the Nimbus.
Good. Its a good uni and will last you a while, When the cranks bend,(if you do a drop higher than 2’ they will) buy some BicycleEuros.
