Night Riding

Can anyone recommend a good light setup for night riding? I’ve tried attaching a
flashlight under the seat and holding a flashlight. Holding a flashlight worked
best but grew annoying after a while. Maybe a helmet light? If so which type?

          Thanks -Mark

A helmetlight sounds good, if you don’t mind looking like a miner

There are some pricey halogen units (light weight) for mountain biking, very
powerful, you can probably attach it to the post of your unicycle. Maybe the
helmet light is best though so can always see where you’re going/looking.

Re: Night Riding

I use the NiteRider Digital Pro-12 - see http://www.niterider.com/ I’ve had this
light for 18 months and it is great. For unicycling, I bought the extra helmet
mount for $10. The lights velcro on to your helmet, the cord goes back to the
battery which you put in the pocket of your camelbak.

There is a newer model now (Digital Pro-12 Extreme) that features 7 hours burn
time, the same 5 power settings…etc. Great stuff, but expensive at around
$300. For half that cost, you can get a decent single bulb system, but I don’t
recommend any of the under $100 systems. You will be constantly disappointed.

Before this, I had a NiteSun dual-bulb system for about 5 years. It worked fine
too, but the NiteRider products are the way to go in my opinion now.

                               Have fun,
                                 Nathan
