Newsgroupers be warned: coupling newsgroup - forum is sketchy

Thanks for noticing this John. I too have experienced that the coupling
between the forum and the newsgroup has been unreliable over the last few
days, and it bugs me bigtime. The audience for posts from the newsgroup
shrinks by more than 85% if the forum is not copied.

The coupling was totally off for some time (a day or so), then Gilby
thought he knew what caused it and made corrective action. But e.g. from
my 4 newsgroup posts yesterday only two made it to the forum. I’ve
e-mailed Gilby about it again.

This post too may end up on the newsgroup only.

(I reposted above message on the forum because the newsgroup->forum gateway didn’t relay it.)

Latest news: Gilby e-mailed me saying that he has to find a better news server.

Once more the coupling is down, since yesterday (Friday). I really
don’t like this dichotomy. The forums are a fine invention and I see
them as an ‘addition’ to the newsgroup, but if the link is down I feel
suddenly very much left out. I’ve e-mailed Gilby again and continue
hoping that he will be able to find a stable solution.

What Klass has said above is true. I’d just like to note that the
coupling of the Unicycling Mailing List and rec.sport.unicycling is
working just fine.
