Hi!
Even though you have “only” been riding since October, you are building your own unicycles and doing stairs and huge drops.
I wouldn’t consider you a newbie; you might want to edit the subject title to “delurker”.
I am a newbie; I have been practicing a couple of times a week for 2 months, and I can ride 60-80 feet when warmed up, and I can kinda turn. I can’t free mount yet.
I am the one who is supposed to be asking the truly silly questions.
Anyway, welcome to the forum/group. The people here are pretty cool.

Welcome to delurking mode, and to the discussions!
Any other lurkers out there? There are often some visitors of unicyclist.com who show up on the “Who’s Online” as guest (which means they aren’t logged in, or aren’t registered). If you’re lurking, please feel free to join in the discussions!
Welcome…I too am a newbie
well, I AM a newbie to the group!!
I still consider myself to be a newbie to unicycling, having only done it for a few months. I try to get out everyday and learn something new. THe beauty of living in Australia is that I can get out everyday!
The drops I do are FAR from huge, and I still cant ride straight off them. I can land them if I go off sideways, but Im still having issues jumping off forwards, as you will see if you expand the pic on my website!
Just one other thing while Im at it, Sorry for not asking if I can post the links on my site, if you want them removed, just email me and I’ll do it.
Leo
Welcome
Welcome from yet another newbie. There are lots of us around here. So far I have found everyone to be pretty cool, and very encouraging.

That’s a nice site you’ve got started there… impressive. I myself am still in the semi-newbie riding era and progressing out slowly once my idling develops a bit more.
/waves hand!
I’ve only been here for a week; so far I seem to be the proper Newbie, I’ve
been unicycling for about three weeks. However yesterday I went the furthest
in one go I’ve done so far; several hundred metres. I’m currently working on
the fact that I find it very difficult to turn, and I can’t turn right at
all! My turning technique at the moment involves almost falling off in one
direction and then rapidly pedalling to stay on. More practice methinks…
I lurk from a newsreader, so you won’t see me being called Guest.

Thanks. The site is still under construction. In fact, I just got some photos back for the “projects” page that I will have to put up tonight or tomorrow. Ive almost got another one finished, just waiting for the wheel.
Never mind idling, I cant do it to save my life! Ive tried, but Im VERY crap at it. Id much rather hop if I MUST stay in the same spot. Dosent stop me from going out, Im out on it all the time!

I’m taking a speech class at the college right now, and for one of our speeches we have to do something called a “demonstration speech”. I havent really checked into what the speech will be about, but it would be the shiznit if I could do the whole speech while idling… probably less tiring then hopping the whole speech. I also dont think I can get a 2-3 minute stand still going.
can you use a podium for the speach?
