NewB - What wheel size

Been lurking for a while. I finally signed in so I would be a registered lurker.
Pretty much the same ol story here. My parents gave me a 20 incher when I was about 10 yrs. old and I learned by myself, hanging on to the side of the garage. Used to ride to school on it. Always kept it around handy but didn’t go too far with it. Then when I was about 25 yrs old my buddy ran over it with his van and that was it. Didn’t ride again for 30 years (except one time in a parking lot - I will try to get a picture of the uni to post if I can - very unique) until recently when I picked up a cheap 20 inch Torker LX on Craigslist. Funny you don’t forget how to ride, but I was all over the place. I’m starting to smooth out a bit now. The 20 isn’t cutting it anymore with all the big wheels available. I read all through the “what wheel size ?” threads and made up my mind from them. I was planning for quite a while to get a Drak 29 as I concluded this was the best uni for me in every way. But all the 36er postings kept me on edge and I knew I would ultimately want one too since most of my riding may be sidewalk and easy bike trail. So after studying the 3 main entry level 36er’s (Titan, Big One, Luxus ) I ordered a Luxus.
I have a feeling it will take a lot of practice to get comfortable on this since I have only ever ridden a 20 incher. ( just picked up a 24” 5ft. giraffe. Another story later)
Thanks to all for the info posted here to help newer people get started.

Welcome to the forum

After you’ve mastered your 36’’ are you going to change your username to
(no longer) all wobby   :stuck_out_tongue:

There are quite a few guys on here who have took to a 36’’ like a duck to water. Good Luck and keep us posted, with lots of piccies, we like piccies.

(I’m hoping for a 36’’ one day. But first I have to master my 29’’, but before that I have to master my 26’’ :o :stuck_out_tongue:  )

a 20, a 36 and a giraffe. All you need now is a 26" MUni and you will have a very nicely rounded out stable.

Congratulations on making the jump to a 36er. Soon you will be looking down on all the doubters and ducking low branches.

Welcome to the forum.

That’s one more of us and one less of them.

Thanks for all the kind words. I put some pics of the new ride on “Post your 36er”. I will go to the general section and put up my giraffe story.

Wow! It looks like there are a lot of 36 users here. Feel a bit intimidated as I can’t ride that still. Been practicing for a month now.
