New unicyclist in Cornwall, UK

Hi, I’m 41 years old, some would say old enough to know better, and have decided its time I learnt to unicycle! I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting ways to hurt myself and this just seems to fits the bill.
I live in Cornwall, UK and am surrounded by some of the most stunning cliff paths as well as some good woodland trails. After some very good advce from Roger at unicycle.com I have decided that the nimbus muni 24" is the ride for me, I’ve passed the details to my wife who is in turn going to pass them to Santa, but she’s adamant that it will stay in its box til Xmas morning!

I have no idea if there are any uni riders nearby, but if there are, I wouldn’t mind some hints and pointers.

Sorry I don’t live in Cornwall, which is my favorite part of the UK. But thought I would say hello!! and welcome to the forum and If you have the patience to wait till Christmas without looking for or looking in the box, then you are a much stronger man than I am!!!  Anyway enjoy learning and stick with it the rewards are well worth the patience and effort. :sunglasses:

Kevin

Plenty of riders in Cornwall
A few keen muni riders around the Falmouth area (get in touch with Kevin Callaby if he doesn’t see this thread). I’m a bit the other side of the Tamar on Dartmoor, but not too far if you’re in East Cornwall. There’s also a group/club based in Calstock I think - used to be quite active.

If you haven’t already, have a look at the UK forum on the UUU website (www.unicycle.org.uk/forum)

Good luck with the learning!

Rob

That’s a stroke of luck, I live in Falmouth!
I’ll take a look at that link now, cheers.

Try posting these guys on facebook

I hope to be down in the Penzance area in the spring sometime. Maybe meet up for a ride?
Good luck…what a nice wife you have
