i’m hopeing to get a new uni, i know i want a trials, it wouldn’t be for trials it would be street riding
i was thinkning the Nimbus 20-inch trials uni or the United 20-inch Trials Cycle
i like the united look but i’m pretty sure the curved frame isn’t as stronge as the nimbus T shape frame, so please tell me which one is the better buy?
Both frames are strong enough. The advantage of the Nimbus is that the frame gives you a spot to put your foot when doing one foot skills. It’s easier to do one foot skills on the Nimbus than the United.
The Nimbus also comes with the Alex rim which is better than the Monty rim. The Monty rim has problems with the spokes pulling through the rim. The Alex rim will hold up better.
Go with the Nimbus. The Nimbus is also cheaper and comes with the unicycle.com CrMO hub.
You may have to take it easy with 3-1/2 foot drops. You’ll probably end up bending your cranks doing drops like that unless you are able to land them smoothly. It might be a good idea to buy and extra set of cranks when you get the unicycle just so you’ll have spares on hand for when you do bend the cranks. That way you’ll be able to get riding again without waiting for new cranks to be shipped.
thanks, i was thinking about using the nimbus, i know what your saying about the cranks too i did the drops on a beginner torker the cranks twisted and i couldn’t ride for a while:(
