Next time you visit Unicycle.com, you’ll see a completely new website. We’ve invested a lot of time and energy into this project, and we hope it makes your shopping experience with us much more enjoyable. Please let us know your first impressions with the new site. As always, your feedback is most welcome. If you spot an obvious problem, please send comments to helpdesk@unicycle.com.
You’ll also notice our 2009 Christmas Treasure Hunt. This is a fun way to get familiar with the new site and to find super bargains on popular products.
I want to personally thank our immediate and extended staff for all their efforts in bringing the new site to life: Josh Torrans, Roger Davies, Steve Pavarno, Cheryl Ballard, Steve Carroll, Taralyn Harris.
It looks really good - nice work!!!
I know all of you have put huge amounts of effort into this in the past year, so it’s really cool to see it finally ready.
The site looks great, it will be a lot easier to navigate and use than the old one.
It would be good to look at changing your categories for unicycles; they’re kind of confusing as they are, and the new site design seems to make it more so. I would do something like:
Beginner Series (collapsed into one category–none of the other menu items have multiple categories)
Freestyle/Cruiser (20" and 24" thin-tire unicycles)
Commuter/Touring (including 26", 29", 36")
Street/Trials
Rough Terrain
Giraffe (Tall)
Ultimate/BC Wheel
This would minimize the number of unis that show up in multiple categories, and make it easier to understand where to find the uni you’re looking for.
Wow, looks great!
(For some reason, the old site kept loading for me when you first posted…I was scratching my head trying to figure out what was different.)
One find: when I have more than a pageful of items (e.g., search for “Kris Holm”), there doesn’t appear to be any way to navigate to the next page. Or at least I can’t see it.
I’m using Firefox 3.5.5 ( Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091123 Iceweasel/3.5.5 (like Firefox/3.5.5; Debian-3.5.5-1) ).
I just checked out the NZ UDC and that one IS radically different and much more user friendly, and even has rider pics. Is this similar to what the new US UDC looks like? If so, it’s still not working for me. But the NZ site is awesome!
I totally agree, but you should change Rough Terrain to Muni or Mountain Unicycles. Though I can see why you would use “Rough terrain” as a description.
I would buy one if they were 2009 or 20010.
Nevermind on that. You guys said the spokes are offset. that is all that I ask. ^^
We had that problem with a few people for the Capture The Moment photo contest. According to Carl, it can happen when either your computer or home router or your ISP don’t update their cached DNS address for the domain. It should fix itself in a couple of days or less.
just a note… When you click The Trails category you have a picture of street riding and when you click the street unicycles you have a picture of trials riding… just thought you might want to know
it’s loading… it takes much longer than the older site(it’s not my computer, every other sites are fast). I can only see the Unicycle.com Logo and the categories. It seems like it doesn’t want to open:(
EDIT: It’s working now:) but really slow, I like it, but there’s alot of categories… Great job:)
EDIT2: It’s working but there’s missing alot of things…
I too can’t find a way to view more than one page of items unless I tell it to view 40 or more items on a single page.
I like the wish list option. I’m not sure what the price alert is for. It just takes me to a page to sign up for easier purchasing. I was hoping it was to let me know if a particular unicycle goes on sale.
I am resistant to change but it didn’t take me long to like the new setup.
This command has worked for us on Windows PCs:
Click Start
Click Run
type command [enter]
type ipconfig/flushdns[enter]
That should do it. For Vista users, there’s an extra step:
Click Start
In the search box, type command prompt[DO NOT PRESS ENTER]
In the list of results above, right-click Command Prompt, then click Run as administrator
Now follow the first set of instructions above.
I cannot navigate to “Handles”…as there doesn’t seem to be a section in parts for it. Handles aren’t in seat accessories or seat posts either, and the site search is not returning anything.
