HELP!!! not a lot, lets say i can: get on with my right and left foot, idil (i dont no how to spell it) and ride back wards a little, working on 1 footed idil and play hockey that about sums it up
Lower point skills are ‘easier’. The skill levels are important as well, maybe more important, but the skill levels don’t describe the skills. You should be working on the lower levels first, as they serve as a basis for the next levels. This forum is most important for tips to doing the tricks, for encouragement, and for reporting your success.
I’m working on riding with the seat to the side right now. My brother can do it. It looks like you just have you bend your knees a lot and try not to get dizzy as it forces you to ride around in circles.
You have got to try (“bunny”) hopping if you haven’t already.
When I teach ppl to ride, they usually say that they can hop on a pogostick when I ask them, and it is almost always a very smooth transition from hopping on a pogo stick to hopping on a unicycle (even if they can’t even ride yet!) Most ppl I teach can hop (either holding onto something, but sometimes without assistance!) before they can ride very far. This is very weird to me. Anyhow, if you can idle, you’re ready to hop!
First off, your going to want your cranks and pedals “horizontal”, so they’re sideways right next to each other. Experiment to see whether you feel more comfortable with your left foot forward and right foot back, or if it feels better to pedal a little bit forward (half a revolution) so that your right foot is forward. Hold onto something while you’re in your “comfortable” position, and try to just keep still, this is called a standstill. This itself would also be a good trick to learn. Now, squeeze your legs (the inside of your thighs) so that they “pinch” the seat, straighten your body up (but still leaning forward a tad bit), put your “stronger” hand or the hand that you’re most comfortable with on the front of the seat (there might be a handle or bumper there) and pull up on the seat with that hand while jumping/hopping/raising your whole body up off of the ground.
Another thing you might want to start thinking about is learning new trick mounts. Ones in your grasp would be the static mount, the rollback mount, the spin mount, the seat-to-the-side mount, the backwards mount, or even the running/jogging mount. Just let me know if you want any descriptions of these.
If you can go backwards for a bit and idle one-footed a little, you should try “stomach-riding”, too.
Good luck!! And have fun! (and try to practice on an indoor gym floor)
