New toys from Sun

Hi all,

Just floated past the Sun Ringle site - http://www.sun-ringle.com/ - after
reading about their new “Singletrack” disk rim. It’s a fat one (although it
doesn’t say just how fat) and weights in a lot less than the DoubleWide. 24
and 26 inch sizes and with 36 hole drillings. Anyone tried one of these?
They are at http://www.sun-ringle.com/ShowRoom/MTB/Rims/singletrack.html

They also had some real nice looking new pedals at
http://www.sun-ringle.com/ShowRoom/MTB/Components/octane.html Big flat
pedals with lots of pins and a magnesium bodied option too  Again, anyone
tried these? They look like they’d be worth a try for sure.

Cheers,
Neil

Re: New toys from Sun

I have to say that after riding with a brake for the last couple of weeks, I
would never go back, and wouldn’t be at all interested in rims like this
(until we have a nice disk-brake hub to use with it anyway). Their “Tech
Specs” are pretty weak…how wide is it? Likewise, those pedals: the Tech
Specs say they are lightweight. The specs are lightweight, that’s for sure.

It’s a good sign, though, that manufacturers are designing part and saying
they are “Designed for North Shore riding”. Sun Ringle says that as does
Arrow Racing at the other URL you posted.
