New to the forums? Introduce yourself!

Welcome to Unicyclist.com, newbie!

Welcome new users to Unicyclist.com!

Feel free to start a post about yourself. Try to include:

  • how you found us;
  • soemthing about yourself;
  • what you ride.

Also, feel free to familiarise yourself with the following threads:

  • the difference between R.S.U. and Just Conversation (R.S.U. is solely for unicycle talk, and Just Conversation is for off topis discussions);
  • the Trading Post thread (you never know what you may find for sale in your area!);
  • Unicycling Articles and Tutorials (this will answer alot of your questions regarding how tricks are done as your level progresses);
  • Also, you may enjoy spending some time in the Video thread, you could find yourself watching for quite some time!

And please remember to search (insert link to search page) before asking a question. This site has been around for a long time, and it’s likely that your question has been asked or your idea has been used before!

Enjoy your time on the forums!

Peace.
J

Admin, please make sticky - the amount of non-searchers is starting to annoy me.

Good luck with that.

Haha, thanks;)
I had to try! It will hopefully save alot of double posts/useless posts if it is stickied!

You’re assuming your post isn’t useless.

What good does (insert link here) do for a newbie?

What’s the definition of “unicycle talk”?

How does one refine their search if they can’t find, for example, crankflip tips?

You’ve got to “fill out” your original post before it’ll be as helpful as you hope.

If you’re a newbie, it’s most likely the first thing you do is harmlessly posting a thread about yourself, or asking i there is anyone that unicycles nearby you - not actually read the forums. I’m just saying, I don’t think newbies will come looking for an existing thread for them to post it in.

I was just hanging a crap and thought that i forgot to change that link bit.
runs into background and hides

I dunno about anyone else but i lurk as a guest for a while and read before signing up.

Then you’re a good newbie, not a bad one - like I was. If you’re a 13 year old new to forums all together then… yeh.

It’s not a bad idea, and at least someone is trying to cut down on the redundant and uselesss threads or the ones that should be in RSU. At least someone is trying to do something.

Thanks for backing up my post mate, much appreciated, some people dont seem to care about it, but i’m glad you feel the same as me.
Thanks:)

Hi my name is Caesar Rodriguez.

Keep in mind some of the “forum police” here use PMs to communicate with new users.

obviously this thread wasn’t here when you joined

who are the “forum police” then, eh?

I wasn’t communicated through PM when I joined by a “police officer”. Nor do these secret PM’s seem to have any effect. Whats the point?

Hah! “I don’t know what’s going on, but it isn’t working!” You crack me up!

I’ve seen immediate effects with short, friendly PMs… to users who use profanity, link to objectionable content or engage in unfriendly behavior.

Try it yourself – you might like it!

The point is to educate new users, one at a time.

The point is to improve the quality of the fora, no matter how little the improvement.

The point is to remind someone that there are real people with real feelings on the “other side” of these fora.

The point is to make Unicyclist.com a better place, one PM or post at a time.

That’s an odd way to moderate a forum. Why not just have mods on the actual forums? Are people afriad of “Big Brother” or something? I’ve never seen a forum so oppsed to moderation.

Yes the forum police they contacted me many tines when I was new they told me “kill yourself” good times,good times
