New to the community, not to the unicycle

Hey all,

I just found out about this site yesterday when searching for information about the seat I just ordered, and figured I might as well join up.

I’m a unicyclist since 2010, when my aunt got me a 20" uni to ride, which I still have. I used it for several years, and decided to upgrade to my current 29" Nimbus Oracle wheel two years ago. I mostly use it to commute around the city, and every Friday I ride the 10km-or-so to work and back again. Unfortunately, it was stolen at around this time last year, forcing me to get another one. Since then, I’ve learned that a heavy chain lock is much preferable to a simple cable one.

I ordered the Kris Holm Fusion Zero seat earlier this week, and so far I’m pleased with the lack of chafing on the inside groin, but definitely need to adjust a bit to the inflexibility of the seat foam. Apart from that new seat, and a bike fender facing backwards, I don’t really have much to accessorize my uni (no bars because I fear I may damage them or myself in falls). Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum Newt!

My suggestion would be to get the bars anyway. A few UPDs won’t hurt them too much, and you can always wrap them with grip tape if they get too scratched.

For security I have a chunky chain lock, but also have an Oxford Screamer disc lock, just to put the bstrds off
