YAY i just ordered my new sun 28 and viscount seat. Does anyone know if the viscount seat will fit on the stock seat post? and also does the alloy rim really make much of a difference? ill post my thoughts about this unicycle when it arrives(i hope in a few days)
I’m 99% sure it will fit, yeah. They’re the same bolt patteren, so yep, it’ll fit.
Hate to tell you this, but IMO the Viscount seat is not much better than the stock Sun seat it comes with…Sorry. Why did you decide to get a Viscount?
Anyway, glad you were finally able to get a 28er!
i heard that the viscount seat was pretty good i mean not KH but better than the one it comes with
I wonder if you could fit a bike gel seat on it?
But do you know how to pronounce Viscount?
v-eye-count
the viscount might be ok for trials or street because it’s relatively strong and low profile, but it’s probably not right for a distance unicycle.
well what seat do you guys suggest? or should i stick with stock seat and get the WTB nano raptor 29" tire. And does anyone know if the qu-ax cotterless cranks will fit?
Yes the qu-ax square cranks will fit.
Any square cotterles crank will fit.
If you really want a better seat, geta KH or KH gel. But try the stock sun seat first to see how bad you hate it or not.
the sun 28 was designed for the road, so i would suggest keeping the stock road tire. it’s nice and smooth. if you plan to ride off road most of the time, the nanoraptor would be fine as long as it fits in the frame. the wheel isn’t too incredibly strong though so take it easy. i stretched a bike seat gel cover over my sun saddle and i use it for my current freestyle uni, but it’s still not that great.
edit: get 125mm cranks, 150 is too long.
i was actually looking at smaller cranks but I dont really know my way around crank sizes
Does anyone know if the Sun alloy 28 wheel would be much stronger than the stock one on the sun 28 because a lot of people are saying the wheel is not strong at all, so i was thinking of the alloy wheel, any thoughts?
its just fine for rode riding… but any trials and small drops… still would probably be fine… but if you had the money i would definaltly say yes get it
Chase
ok so i got the sun today and i went to put it together and it seems as thought the bolts that hold the bearing holders on are too long or something. the nut they give you only screws on a little bit so the bearing holders are mad loose so i obviously cant use it. Does anyone else have this or am i just doing this wrong or do i just have to cut them down?
ok forget that last post i got it going now i really had to cut the seatpost down, this uni is pretty cool i havent gotten to ride it yet due to bad weather but as soon as it stops raining im gonna go out and try it.
I have that uni.
The viscount seat will fit.
The Nanoraptor 29" will not fit. You need a 28" tire, not a 29". 28.5 is about the max external diameter you can fit in the frame.
The rim is pretty strong. I take mine off 2-foot drops and have no problems.
I’ve switched to 89mm cranks, but they’re a little short.
It’s a good uni.
ok so today i got to really ride my new sun and i have to say it is quite awsome. It is a very smooth ride at a good speed. Im used to riding my MUni with a 24x2.6 tire so this was a huge change, about have the weight and much faster and more efficient. i reccomend this uni to anyone looking for a big wheel.
okay, ill get it then
