New QUAX uni build

Hi all,

I’m new to the community, but definitely not new to unicycling. I’ve been unicycling since about 2004. In 2005 or 2006, in my early years of college, I bought a QUAX 20 trials for $300. Best purchase ever. It’s remained my primary unicycle, until recently when I decided to build a new trials. One year ago, I bought two QUAX hub and crank sets for $15 apiece since they were phasing out the old style–awesome deal. I used one for my new Muni build last year, and am using the other for this project. Two weeks ago, my Onza Sticky Fingers tire, QUAX aluminum seatpost and 48 spokes came in the mail from unicycle.com, and just two days ago, my brand spankin’ new aluminum QUAX frame and double-walled rim came in from Germany (municycle.com).

Turns out 20" 48 spoke rims are hard to come by in the states. It was probably cheaper to just buy the unicycle pre-built… but that’s not the way I roll.

Here is a picture of a side-by-side of 'ol trusty on the left and the new aluminum beauty.

I took a video of myself building the wheel, so stay tuned for a time-lapse

Where did you fix the glass of wine ?
