new piece of unicycle gear spotted

Hey, I was just going to open a new thread for the 2009 Nimbus Gel seat, which I discovered on the Korean UDC.
But then I thought it might be cool to have a more general thread for all new things like that. So whenever you find any new unicycle related products, especially on the less common websites, this is the place to post a link.
The idea is to be able to see all new products in here without having to scan all the different UDC shops first.

So here is the link to the new Nimbus Gel.

It uses the same base, bumper and bolts as the KH ones. So one could probably mount a stiffener plate and the KH T-Bar too.

It will definitely fit the stiffener plate and KH touring handle  Biggest difference between the Nimbus & KH is that the seat cover is fixed and not removeable (see issue 9 of Uni magazine for more)

here you will find

some nice tires & rims & other stuff

Not sure I would’ve included this pic in an official product review page, but to each his own I guess.

Didn’t you see that one comming?
Why you think MDC is clearing out his old Nimbus seats with discount?

Easy Probailer2, are you talking to me? In case you are, yes I did see this one coming. What makes you assume I didn’t? It has been announced some time ago. I just thought I’ll share the link, since there were no other sources for further product details. I’m not particularly interested in the saddle anyways, I just happened to stumble upon it there and thought people may want to go check it out. My preference goes to the KH fusion seats.

Could you clarify for the newbie? I have no idea what MDC is nor why he is getting rid of Nimbus seats for cheap.

It’s Municycle.com, the Canadian Unicycle.com. They’re clearing out their old Nimbus seats at a discount to make room for the new 2009 Nimbus saddles.

I suspect he meant UDC - Unicycle Dot Com - online retailer who changed the face of unicycling by making a greater range of unicycles available to the wider unicycling public.
(Probailer is Belgian and may have been thinking 'Monocycle-dot-com when he posted, I’m not sure.)

And I suspect the Nimbus is being seen as a slightly inferior product because of the fact that the seat cover is fixed, as opposed to the removable option offered on other seats.

MDC = municycle.com, the german unicycle.com

MDC means municycle.com (german version of unicycle.com and a very good shop it is!)

this makes it clear ones again that behind the screens a lot of company’s are working togheter (not saying that is not a good thing) (helps to keep the price low and why not use it if it is good)

UDC NZ have had those in for ages… we’ve had them since like April this year…

UDC NZ also has POGO sticks… http://www.unicycle.co.nz/View.php?action=Page&Name=Pogosticks

I see, well, I don’t usually search every UDC for new parts… Especially not the ones in NZ, AU and Korea. Just occasionally I’ll look for something there and stumble upon things.

Good for you, I couldn’t care less about them.

$1,350.

Oh. My. God.

which is fair enough…

Pogo sticks are quite fun

Still, I think Nimbus should use the laces cover.
Would be much better.
But I geuss KH has that one patented

More likely it’s just cheaper to staple the cover on rather than having to sew the hem and fit a drawstring. That’s how they can sell that version for less than a KH one.

Rob

I just found a thread in the German forums about a new frame by Qu-ax, which is not available yet.
To me it looks very similar to the KH design. They say it’ll be available in aluminum as well as in steel. This particular one is a 20" one that is supposed to go on the Qu-ax Profi unicycle. So it isn’t really meant for trials, street or muni, I guess. But maybe those types will follow later on.

I wonder if this design will be considered different enough from Kris’ so they won’t get any problems with each other.
Probably their aluminum frame will be cheaper than Kris Holms too…

nice stores
