I just installed a Roach/air pillow on a new Miyata seat. Is it me, or is the handle on the new seats really flexable? It feels like could twist it off if I tried. I checked to make sure I had the nuts tight, and I could see the flex is in the handle itself. Maybe it’s just something to get used to. I didn’t have any trouble installing the air conversion, and it sure is comfortable. Joe

The handle on the new seat definitely seems more flexible. (I went from
green to blue, so I don’t know if that makes a difference aside from the
other changes). In fact, I have two of the blue Miyata seats with
the Roach conversion (both bought from unicycle.com as-is), and both are
developing cracks in the handle, underneath the seat, along the seam where
the seat base meets the seat sides.

I don’t know what length bolts unicycle.com is using when they put the converted Miyata seats back together. In any event, even the stock Miyata bolts for the front bumper tend to be a little long. I put a couple extra washers in mine so I can tighten them down more without bottoming out the acorn nuts. Try adding a couple extra washers and then tighten down the acorn nuts real good.
However, if the bolts spin in the seat base then tightening them down real tight may be a challenge. I don’t have one of the new Miyata seats so I don’t know what’s up with them.

The handle on my new blue Miyata seat is loose too. Glad it’s not just me. 
Ohh yeah, my new red Miyata cracked extremely bad on me. The new ones are definately a lot weaker.
Where did it crack?
im glad the flex wasnt me. i just got a new red miyata with roach cover and one bolt spins indefinitely in the handle. oh well the air seat is nice and ill be buying a reeder handle soon and carbon base when i have the money. lets see the pics of that nasty crack Accord
When I hop or do a lot of seat grabbing I do it right handed. On the right side of my seat at the back right of the front bumper it started cracking and has made it’s way almost to the middle of the seat.
