new inner tube

I popped my inner tube on my 24" bedford muni while taking off the chains I put on it during winter. At the moment i do mostly freestyle, but I hope to get more into trials and muni in the summer. A big drop for me right now is about two feet, I can hop up about one foot.

My curent tire is 2.3". Regular 24" inner tubes cost about $5 Canadian, while the downhill ones cost $12-$22.

I will probably never do anything very big on a uni, so would a downhill tube just be extra weight?

Re: new inner tube

I’m using a standard tube in my MUni and I haven’t had any problems.
I’ve put on a could hundred miles of fairly rough riding without a
single puncture. I’m running a 3.0 Gazz. I was planning on getting a
DH tube, and if this one every dies, it will be replaced with a DH
tube, but for now it’s working fine.
