hello
Generaly alot of people that have unicycled for a long time, but are new to the ‘world’ community, often don’t realize what there is out there, and progress slower.
I recomed whatching some videos, to give you an idea of whats going on in the unicycling world.
Like the new defect trailer that just came out.
Here is a link to that thread.

Welcome, Mully. How long was the old wheel in storage? I took mine out 6 years ago after 17 years in storage. A number of us here have had similar experiences.
Also, you might want to post introductions like this in RSU where the discussion is specifically about unicycling and the percentage of blather is only around 30 % - 40% rather than here in Just Conversation where it’s almost all blather.
We (my group of friends) all started riding wheels about 1973 or 74, about the time we were freshmen in High School. We rode everywhere around town, did parades, and made our own giraffes (?). Tallest one was fifteen feet from the ground to the seat. I would guess my unicycle was in storage (except for the occasional ride around the driveway) since 1978. Got it back out now and it will remain that way. With the price of gas I will ride it to do light chores around town.
I have been looking on the net for a new one too. Just not sure which one to purchase. Most likely I will spend a couple hundred on a new one, and some on the old one to fix it up and make it road worthy again.
Looking at some of the new ones, they ask you what post length do you want to order it in. I will assume they mean the seat post, but not sure what length I would need to order.
Any help would be appreciated.

From the seat post FAQ on Unicycle.com:
How do I know which seat post length is the right one for me?
A good rule of thumb:
If under 5-feet, order a 200-mm seat post.
If between 5- and 6-feet, order a 300-mm seat post.
If 6-feet or above, order a 400-mm seat post.
Thank you !!!
