New cnc frame

Thinking outside the box, but how about “sideways” bearing caps facing either forward or to the back? Actually if you had them at a 45 degree angle you might be able to use the nimbus d’Brake adapter on one side and have the brake caliper nice and close to the frame and not have to worry about adding the disk tabs to the frame.

Like this? Sorry for the crap CAD skills, but I’m lazy.

yeah I thought of doing that but I am worried that it would be too weak. I have thought about doing basically the same thing on a 45 to preserve the strength. The easiest is to use the slimmer 32 mm bearings. I want to make these one piece on top with just the bearing cups separate. No leg bolts would be sweet and much lighter.

If you had a flat on the trail, you could surely change the tube simply by unbolting the leg from the crown and not even touching the bearing clamps?

Yep, 3 bolts instead of 4. The frames are helicoiled so they last longer.

Unless you are unlucky to do something really nasty to your tube you can patch the tube without removing the wheel on the trail.
Anyway great project and I’m waiting for the version 2.
