I would assume that the old one will be discontinued once current stock is exhausted, since the reason for switching to the new version was a new manufacturer.

For those who are interested in the weight. I went for a new 36 oracle. With that uni I also got the new 36 nightrider light tire. The tire is out of Spec! it is too light. 
On my scale it was just 1300 gr. So even lighter as advertised.
As this is my first 36´er I can not compare the tire to other tires in this size. What I can say is that it is running really smooth.
Mine is in transit from UDC Australia. They had just one on the way when I enquired. No more until April.
Unfortunately I wonât get it until Monday.
the one from a friend of mine is 1270g !

My new Nightrider Lite tyre is 1295g, and my slightly used regular Nightrider is 1745g. The spec for the NL is 1350g - 1450g. Iâm not sure it is positve that my NL is lighter than spec, but itâs not by much so Itâs probably ok.
I asked Peter to get me one a month or two ago and it arrived early last week. Feels reallly good compared to the old one. Corners much easier accelerates and decelerates much easier. I had to get used to the corning however as I was turning like I would normally turn on a 36" and I found that it didnât behave the same way. I think it behaves a bit closer to a regular sized wheel and that was throwing me for a bit.
Mine was probably the last available one in the same shipment as yours. I delayed mine waiting for some other stuff to come to save on freight.
Mine weighs 1373 grams. Of course we are all using different calibrated scales so there might be a considerable error margin.
I have not fitted it yet and probably wonât ride it for a while as I am still not completely over the viruses that have now plagued me for seven weeks. I have made the mistake of trying to get out too soon twice already and paid for it with relapses so I am not going to risk it again.
I note reviewers commented that the Lite is better on camber. This is consistent with my perspective on camber effects being related to the stiffness of the tyre carcass. That is where the weight was saved and the new tyre is far more flexible.
I already know I will love it without having even ridden it because it is constructed much more like the Maxxix DTH and Torch tyres that I use on my 24, 26 and 29 inch unis.
Finally got to ride the new tyre. Stealth rim . I pumped it to 50 psi as I used on the original Nightrider. It was like a different unicycle right from the start.
My home launch is out onto a left slope and curving immediately down the hill. Probably a bit ambitious for the first ride but I hadnât expected it to be so different. It took off so quickly I lost control. The left turn went hard and it seemed to oversteer.
After a while I started thinking that it needed a little more pressure to make up for the sidewalls being so soft compared to the old Nightrider. I have felt this on smaller soft wall tyres especially under load. I think collapsing of the sidewall is what made it oversteer when I started out.
At about five kilometres I was confident about needing more air and resolved to ride home and pump it. Right then it blew off the rim.
So I didnât really get much of a chance to try it out. I was only just beginning to get used to its lower momentum. Hesitant about risking another tube.
Is that the old Stealth rim with holes (cut-outs) in it? Not Stealth2?
Thatâs the good question to ask.
It seems that some rims canât hold this tire above a certains amount of PSI.
Unless you have a Stealth 2, this can be a concern.
Someone experienced very bad behavior at very low PSI (30 PSI), like very bad road camber sensitivity.
I donât know which rim he used.
My 3 only rides with the Lite on the Stealth2 at 52 PSI were good.
Didnât ride it since December, but the tire is still pumped, the rim is still holding the tire.
The tube is a butyl 700x35/47 if it matters.
No cutouts but it doesnât appear to be marked Stealth2 as such.
It had a Foss tube.
You have to look hard to find the â2â in Stealth 2 as it is quite small.
Another question for OneTrack (and others). How did the tyre fit? Was it hard to put it on. Did you have to use a tyre lever?
I have a light tyre and a Nimbus Stealth (not 2) with cutouts. I havenât tried it yet, but itâs a pretty tight fit. I had to use a tyre lever, but because the sidewalls are thinner it was easier to yank it in place than a regular Nightrider.
I remember one of my first 36âer rides in 2010 with this rim an a NR tyre. I pumped it to 65 PSI, rode it for at bit and left it in the sun. I turned my back on it, and with a big booom the tyre blew right off the rim destroying the tube (regular type) and the tyre.
I had a TA tyre/FOSS tube combo explode in the sun once, it ripped a monster of a hole in the tube but the tyre was fine 
Very scary though, what did the tyre look like afterwards?
New tyre fits same as the previous one thanks to Stealth2 profile (same as Dominator2)
The edge of the tyre (the part that goes into the rim) whas shredded. UDC Sweden replaced it - no charge.
No sign of a 2. Just âNimbus Stealth 787 x 38â. Was there ever a Stealth (1) without the cutouts?
I donât know about the history of the rim. It came on a second-hand Triton.
I recently bought a new Dominator 26 inch wheel that UDCA brought for me from UK. The rim has âNimbus Unicyclesâ logo. It doesnât have a machined brake surface. It has a more rounded external cross section than the Stealth 36. I am pretty sure it had a deeper central recess inside the rim but I donât want to take the tyre off to look. My Stealth is quite flat across the inside.
I used levers to get the 36 inch tyre on. However I was just able to get the tyre back on by hand after it blew off. (I had hoped it would roll without air but the sidewalls were too soft so I carried it home.)
Doesnât appear to have damaged the tyre or rim. Of course the tube is split for quite a distance. It was very loud bang. Glad I wanât going fast and on a level surface.
Iâm thinking my rim might not be suited to the Lite.
Iâve got an original Stealth 1 without cutouts with a machined brake surface. It came on a second hand KH36 (pre-disc brake, Moment hub). I bought it second hand in Las Vegas from a guy called Eric. He had purchased it from UDC USA.
I was going to get the Lite tyre but I might hold off if the original Stealth rim is incompatible. Has anyone else had a blowout?
Others in this thread have reported blowouts with the lighter tire. Some discussion on the first part of this thread where Roger at UDC reported that â⌠the lighter the side wall and bead the more likely to blow off the rims.â Post #19.
