Sorry to dot his, but can someone give my some computer help?

  • About half the times I try to log into something secure like email, it says on firefox that the connection is refused and on IE it says page cannot be displayed.

It goes from working to not working about every 24 hours…

whats the deal?

It hasn’t been doing this forever, it just started a couple months ago.

Maybe your local DNS isn’t syncing up when your ISP expires your lease on your IP address.

When it happens go to a command prompt and type:
ipconfig /renew

That will renew your DNS lease.

You could also try:
ipconfig /flushdns

or:
ipconfig /registerdns

If any of those work then you’ve probably got problems with your computer not syncing up right away when your IP address lease expires. I’m not sure exactly what to do about that though.

I’m assuming you’re running some flavour of Windows NT/2000/XP
