Need new seatpost for Torker AX 29

I am trying to find a new seatpost for my Torker AX 29. It’s 26.8 diameter and needs to be around 10" long. I cut the original post to about 6 inches for my son and now he’s decided he likes my old 24" unicycle (fine by me), but unfortunately the seat is now an inch or two lower than I like with the post fully extended. Does anyone know where I can find a black seatpost that will fit this uni? Original equipment would be preferred.

hmmmmmmm i havent ever heard of that size…im thinin its gonna be hard to find.

Have you called UDC? They have the LX in their catalog and should have the AX in stock as well.

One would hope anyway. It’s definately going to be hard for you to replace from a used AX as I can’t imagine someone just having an extra or parting with the original. I certainly wouldn’t.

Keep me posted as someday I might need the same.

Many people dislike the KH Rail Adapter (they complain of the weight it adds, and that it’s inelegant compared to, say, the integrated design of a Scott Wallis seat), but one advantage is that you use regular bike seatposts. One of my munis uses a 26.8 seatpost, which is not uncommon in the bike world, and I’m happy to have put one of those rail adapters on that uni. It’s an up-front cost of around $25 for the adapter, but then you can always find seatposts (even if you need them for a new uni, with a different sized seat tube, down the road).

I got lucky this time…

The way the seatpost for the AX is built is that a 26.8 diameter aluminum pipe is pressed on to an aluminum cast seat plate. The section of pipe still connected to the cast mount was about 5.75 inches, the section I had cut off was about 7.25 inches. With some air powered metal working tools I was able to cut the pipe and remove it from the aluminum mount, and with a tremendous amount of brute force I got the longer pipe pressed on. After repainting the seatpost it looks as good as new, I definately feel lucky this time. Hopefully Torker will make replacement parts available for this UNI sometime soon, it’s hard to imagine why they would use an odd size seatpost if they aren’t trying to sell parts.

Thanks to all for your responses, it’s good to know I can get help with these new fangled unicycles. We didn’t have so many choices 40 years ago, but I should have upgraded long ago. This new unicycle rides a whole lot smoother than my old 24 incher.
