Need help with "Many Faces"

Since the caption gremlins snuck into the Many Faces gallery and stole text away (they use it to feed their young), I need help identifying the unidentified.

Here’s the link: http://www.unicyclist.com/gallery/faces

If you would, please check out the gallery then send me an email with your desired caption and try to describe the picture or count down to the picture so I know which is which. If you’re ashamed of your mug, then…what can I say?

As always, more pictures are always welcome. Only I’ve had to install an electronic word fence around the gallery…no words get in, no words get out! So, you’ll have to send me your caption for the pic via email so I can include it.

You can email me at
yoopers at inwave.com or
yoopers at unicyclist.com

Regards,
Bruce

Bruce,

I know some of you guys take this stuff verry seriously. But they are just captions, lets have some fun with them and give each other to make fun of everyone else on the site. As long as its done in good clean fun with no malitious comments.

The only thing I ask is to keep everyones names next to thier pixs.

Just one Smurfs opinion

Re: Need help with “Many Faces”

I’d like to offer my opposite opinion. I had initially considered posting
pics of me and my family but after the “fun” changes that I saw being made I
have decided not to. I know this isn’t going to devestate anyone but it
seems that if folks like me are holding back because of a fear that someone
might alter the caption into something that I (we) would consider
innapropriate, embarrassing, or just different that what I (we) intended
that we all lose out a little.

Chex,

Thanks for the opinion. Well noted. But I don’t think it’s so much a matter of seriousness as it is workability.

The other thing is it’s tough to gather feelings over this impersonal media format. I tell my boys that when teasing becomes irritating for the teased, it’s gone beyond two-way fun. Some may not appreciate some of the “adjustments” to their person because a person’s face is one of the primary representations of the whole person, it can get pretty personal at times.

I do agree that the names need to remain. The objective of the gallery is to put names with faces. So what good is a gallery of faces without names.

Let’s roll with this for awhile and see what happens.

Other opinions?

Bruce

Michael,

Please post your pictures. I’ll control the captions so you can be assured that what you post there stays there.

Hey Checkered Smurf,
Yeah it’s kind of bummer, but I do understand Bruce’s point too. Some of the captions were pretty tasty but there was lots of potential for things to get sour. I actually thought the modification of the caption on my pic was rather funny. Whoever ripped on my socks…kudos, I got a good laugh out of it!

i will take responsibility for the Smokey the Bear comment,Bruce-

Thats just Smokey Bear to you, bub!

You guys are bastards.

Re: Need help with “Many Faces”

I have had concerns about posting a picture. I have never enjoyed teasing. Most
teasing seems to be an almost polite way of intentionally being mean to
someone.
I do plan on posting, just looking for a great picture of myself.
Barb in the red shirt

When people take comments personally is where you get problems. Agreed. But get that stick out of your butt peopel if you allways take life serious why are you riding a unicycle. Have you ever seen yourself up on top of one. You look silly. From what I can tell part of this sport is not letting “the bastards grind you down” and “Stay[ing] on top”. Yeah we all get frustrated, but have you heard of a unicycler beating somone up who asks “wheres your other wheel”. Take it from a kid who has been picked at since before he can remember, words only hurt you if you let them. Keep in mind that all coments are not an attack on your person rather a statement that someone finds comical. Even if you do find comments pointed at you in a malitious way. What does the idiot know who wrote it in the first place. They dont know you. Take my typical punk boy line under my pix. I specifically told others to poke fun of me and I get something I dont really want to hear “look ist a typical punk boy” but you know what its kinda funny. Well its 4:38 am and Im all out for this rant.
Take it easy,

Here’s another thought I meant to include in my plea for help.

If you do post a picture, let us know here so we know there’s something new to look at. Deal?

Thanks,
Bruce

I’m on board now. I didn’t see how to put any text with my picture (It’s the dude at the desk slum thinking about how he is not unicycling).

New pics on the board (minus Knight Rider again).

Al–leeeee–Ooop!

How did this get up here again?

Look at these mugs, will ya?

Re: Faces

Why is it that when I click on the link above I’m redirected to the main gallery page, but when I cut and paste the link into my browser (IE 5.5) location bar I go directly to the Faces gallery?

Thanks,

I don’t know. I have IE 5.5 and the link takes me to the “Faces” page.

Faces

I use Netscape, and the link takes me directly to the “Many Faces” page.
You shouldn’t have to cut and paste… just click on the link.

Dump that Evil Empire browser anyway.

Re: Re: Faces

Everyone seems to be accounted for to date with the exception of that strange shadow picture at the end. I can see a pedal but that’s about it. Any help? Maybe it’s abstract shadow uni art.
