I have been given the dubious honor of being the chair of the Raffle Committee for the up-coming North American Unicycle Conference and Championship (NAUCC) in Salt Lake City, Utah, July 13 - 18.
Throughout the conference we will raffle-off items that have been donated that will raise money to pay for the awards and the event itself. Further, we can use this raffle to promote the businesses, clubs and individuals that have donated items. The donated items are to be labeled with the name of the donor and placed on display – to whet the appetite of potential raffle ticket buyers and to display who has supported our unicycle gathering and unicycling in general.
So, as you already are expecting, here is the pitch: Can you help us by donating items for this part of our conference? Your support would be greatly appreciated - obviously.
This is a great way to show your support for this growing sport and this gathering of the continent’s unicyclists.

Again, I encourage / challenge all riders and clubs to particpate in this part of our continental uni-gathering. Everyone is going to have such a great time! I can’t wait!
Think of the raffle as sort of a raffle pot luck. If you have access to items or services that any of us might enjoy winning in a raffle let me know so that I can put it on the list.
I could probably donate something… I will have to figure out something that would appeal to just about anyone. Adults are easy, kids may be a little harder. If you win, do you get your pick? Or do you just pick an item then pull the ticket? I don’t think a kid would be that enthralled with most of the stuff I sell.
The way it will work, as I understand, is that an item will be selelcted and then a ticket will be selected, at random.- from the “hat.” The holder or the ticket’s mate will win the item. Easy, huh?
I want to remind everybody to bring several extra dollars to buy gads of raffle tickets at the NAUCC. We have some GREAT items that have been donated and we are sure to have an exciting time - and perhaps win some great stuff.
There is still time to donate items or services to be raffled-off. Since we are within a time window, if you are making a donation to the raffle the item probably should be brought to the event - rather than be sent. If you would like to make a donation and you are unable to attend and you don’t want to send the item you can contact me to make a pledge donation and we can draw for the item that is to be delivered after the event. We are doing everything that we can to make this NAUCC as entertaining, exciting, instructional, and fun as we know how. This is our biggest party of the year and I can’t wait to see many of you there!
