That trick is called an “around the world”… do you really expect to get that confused with tail/seatwhip?

If he wants to call it a maxwhip then so be it in my opinion.

Now to point out the few minor problems I noticed after watching this +20 times…

At :30 it looks like you are about to try to do that skinny to jumping over the fence. At 1:58 also you are about to try a line. I’m assuming you failed to add these to your lines so you cut them out. But try to cut them out a bit earlier so we can’t see this.
Oh, and the quad and whip were a bit sketchy. I understand though you didn’t have time to film better ones because it had to be ready for NAUCC.

As I said. minor problems.

I didn’t think at the time I put the name “maxwhip” in the video that it would upset so many people. I thought it would be cool to name it that and I thought it had a good sound to it. I appreciate the way Bobousse addressed this issue rather than just talking shit indirectly. I don’t care who calls the trick what: whip seatwhip tailwhip alien abductor Sasquatch extra terestical maxwhip maximum whip whatever. I just don’t want this to become a big deal that riders will argue over forever. I’ll take the name out of the video so people won’t freak out about it anymore. Call it whatever you want, I’ll call it the maxwhip and that doesn’t mean anybody else has to.

I don’t think that was directly aimed at you, but at all other riders out there naming themselves after a trick: sej flip? worst name ever. Trick names should be somewhat descriptive. I find Max(imum) whip suits the trick just fine, it’s a good name… I’m calling it that.

… I’ve watched this at least 50 times. Best video ever? A High def download would be nice!

while you’re talking about this, i think it’s the right time for me to say that i really don’t like how people call tricks by their name (as for the sej flip)
the trick you did that you called a max whip, a lot of people thought of it before you (those people called it seat whip) plus i know at least two riders that are close to it also… and i’m pretty sure they wouldn’t call it by their name. I don’t think people need to call tricks by their name to be remembered as great unicyclists.
I just PERSONNALY think that this attitude doesn’t fit at all the unicycling spirit.

I insist in the fact that my previous words got nothing to do with the fact that i respect you as a man and a rider, and that from what french people told me from Unicon you’re very friendly, so i guess you are.
I mean just don’t take this as a personnal attack.

Getting back to the video, i think that i watched it like 20 times at least since yesterday, this vid is just AWESOME, i don’t wanna describe more how i feel about the video cause i like the whole thing.

Wow I can’t believe I just saw this today. That was FREAKING AMAZING!! The maxwhip actually made me shout “what the F***!” and that doesnt happen too often in uni videos. Nice job

So a while ago I thought of this trick its like how dan H swings the frame around on the table in U2 but with no table. So I tried it with pathetic results and I just found pics of someone doing it in yoggis gallery. How many people have landed this? [1.jpg]

It has been done before, but always static and kind of cheated Started drag seat in front (or back) and jumped very high and the seat came around to the other side.

The first one was landed back in 2005 i think.

The maxwhip is one of the most impressive things i saw till now!
I thought about it long time ago and it went straight to the “impossible things to do”-list…

8,530 views so far. Impressive. Although I suspect there aren’t even 8500 unicyclists… everyone is watching it 10 times.
I downloaded it so my views dont even show up.

I like the maxwhip name. I’d like to see a whole range of max trick followups. maxspin, maxflip, maxdrop, double maxwhip…

My second favorite trick was the railing when you jumped the fence at the bottom.
The leaps were pretty huge - over the picnic table, and up the 7 stairs.

I like the way tricks have been named until now. Based on bike and skate tricks (makes easier for people outside the uni world, tv sports commenters and competition announcers) or into logical systems (there are a few exceptions like the hick flips, but anyway)… I hate the name sej flip… Sounds really weird… maxWhip sounds ok, but I would rather calling it seat whip…

Also, most of us speaks english, but it isn’t our first language… Keeping names simple and logical is the best… I just landed a new trick some weeks ago and I could call it “Flip-de-mão” or anything else… it makes totally sense for me, but I know that most of you guys can’t even say it in the right way…

About giving respect to riders like Shaun, Dan, Adri and Max himself, there are better ways to do it than naming tricks… Riding and fighting for the sport evolution is one of them! I know how much blood adri gave for unicycling in france… I was there with him… Nothing would makes him happier than watching the sport getting bigger around the world! Shaun also worked hard to turn unicycling into a professional sport! I believe that he would love to see some of our friends sponsored by great brands! Their names are here… on videos, forums, social networks and pictures. Many of the new riders here knows who Dan Heaton is!.. And I’m sure that the new ones who hopefully will show up here also will!

With the time, we will see how it turns out… In Europe SeventhFlip is the most common name… USA it’s Sej… With convivence between us, soon one name will remain…

Max, again: RESPECT! You ARE revolutionizing the sport! Don’t come with that bullsh*t that you can’t impress us anymore… Everybody here knows that you’re just beginning! Keep the UNIQUE enthusiasm and creativity you have! As Lutz said before: I’m proud to be in the same team as you man! I just can’t wait to ride with you again!

I wouldn’t call it hick flip, and I would change it to varial flip… and maybe cal varial flips 180 out flips? But now it’s too late! HickFlips are massively used all around the world. Other tricks are keeping logical sequences… Keeping that way would be nice… There are a few other exceptions… But keeping it logical would make things way easier for everybody!
