Napalm from CandyLand

A bleary morning here in PA, I wake up to find my six year old is hiding under blankets in his newly cleaned room, my old dog who gorged himself by breaking into the kibble bag yesterday seems to be moving still. The beagle is still waking up and doing her morning meditation on the wall behind the chair.

Suddenly as if under the direction of the canaries, who begin to sing their car alarm-chicken-cellphone song, all my charges rise at once; the dogs run and wait by the closet with the kibble wagging furiously, and I hear the simpering whine of a 6-year old “I’m hungry…”

Dogs first or they’ll try to eat the kid’s breakfast, too.The big dog wh at 5 pounds of kibble yesterday gets only a token serving and tries with all his might to consume the beagle’s meager portions. the beagle responds by growling with her mouthful, but other than that faux paw (ha ha), they get their meal. Now the child. A bowl of cheerios and milk drizzled with hersheys syrup cuts down his whining. Good. I take a breath, put the kettle on. Time for me!!

I decide a health shake is going to be the best way to start the day for me. I fill up the blender with the usual mix of ingredients and push the tell tale button.
SCREEEEEECH!! :astonished:
The dogs and the child all try to fit under the couch at once. Seems as if the clutch mechanism on the blender that is now full of sticky lumpy good with ice chunks has finally burnt out. I am really hungry, I’m sad, this was a nice blender. Not without resource, though. I have the bright idea to use the little oster milk shake maker. I scrape the goo out of the blender and into a large glass, insert the little mixer and… voila!

Bananas, yougut, walnuts, chocolate sauce, pear and ice chunk spew mercilessly about the kitchen. The floor, ceiling, open cabinets, sink, stove, fridge everyinthing, me too, is covered with this sweet sticky mess.

I’m letting the dogs clean up best they can first. My son well, he has something to laugh about all day and tell his buddies at school tomorrow. Me. I changed prematurely out of my somewhat saturated PJs and am still wondering what’s for breakfast.

I didnt know you lived in candyland. I’ll have to stop by next time I’m in the area. I’ll make the smoothies though…

This goes under the “grinds my gears” thread.
