I was talking about doing that close to a baby in a trolly. In general it doesn’t matter. That is why we do tricks with unicycles.
Way to make one feel old. That baby in the stroller is an adult now and potentially has a child of their own. Hopefully all of them are unicyclers. Back to topic.
Sure, I totally understand your concern. Once while riding I felt the tendency that it can tip over. But in comparison once I went out of bed carrying him I stumbled and fell on the ground, fortunately without hurting him.
Here is my rolling unicycle trainer
… I took the advice of everyone here. Thank you all for that advice. I appreciate it. Help a lot! Here is a photo of what I did. But it’s gonna have more colors on it in a few days. the wheels are taped off at the bottom so I wouldn’t get paint on them. What do you guys think.?
I love it! And I love the avatar!(I believe it has changed recently?)
In my mind, I had envisioned larger casters. (Granted, I can’t actually see yours, yet…) I am hoping the casters you chose work perfectly and roll smoothly!
can you make me a tall version for when learning to ride on my 36” UW
(j/k)
I agree that the wheels could be a bit taller. Just make sure you use it on a smooth surface to avoid tipping over.
or you can give it bigger wheels, so you can learn to ride municycle in the forest. Will be interesting to see you take it on single track rides.
Once you UPD on a steep hill you become that bigger wheel yourself.
Thanks again for all your input everyone! Don’t forget I’m gonna be 70 next May. I did write into cycles my whole life. I’m on TikTok as unicycle granny. Look me up if you wanna see me riding. There’s a YouTube link also for my circus stuff on the TikTok page.
I don’t think I’m gonna be riding through anything too crazy at this age. Lol I just wanna get my riding back. I stopped about a year ago and this is what happened. My kids don’t think I should be trying it at all. Lol but I need to for me. I’ll probably be going over half inch bumps on the sidewalk at the most.
I’ll send you all another picture once it’s finished. The cast is on the bottom should be fine there about 2 1/2 inches. I rolled it around with my hands. Seem fine. We’ll see though maybe they need to be bigger. I don’t know. Lol That will cause a red adjustment of the whole thing because then it would be too tall, but I will do it if I need to. Thanks again for all your input. I appreciate all of you guys! Standby for a new picture about it by the weekend.
Kids: You know mom. We really don’t think you should be doing this at your age.
Circusgirl: Whats the worst that can happen? You get your inheritance sooner and you can enjoy it longer.
Kids: We salute you in your efforts to ride a unicycle. You got this mom.
Hope everything works out well with your trainer.
Another option rather than inventing/building something new may be to use a rollator. They can be found used. This is an all-terrain rollator with pneumatic tires. It is a little low but for a smaller rider on a smaller uni it should work well.
I was wondering if it would be good training for UW; with less energy used on balancing, there’s more for just riding, but it would need to be taller.
From my experience, holding onto something, even a hand did not bring me any progress on the UW or with drag seat.
Surely supermarket trolleys are already hard enough to control without trying to do it from a unicycle? ![]()
Since the trainer requires force to change its speed and direction, don’t the riding dynamics change in a way that inhibits the learning process?
OK, here is a photo of my new unicycle trainer contraption. Lol yes it’s TikTok colors because I have a TikTok account. It’s going on TikTok next weekend. I might’ve mentioned I’m unicycle granny on there if you have a TikTok go check it out.
Thank you eagain for all your advice. Here’s a photo of what I made. Thanks to all of you and your comments and your advice. Let me know what you guys think.
All finished with stickers and ready to roll. I’m gonna take it out for a spin on Saturday if I live through it all I’ll post pictures if I don’t, it was nice knowing everybody. Lol.
