…so it’s rather handy that little key next to the right control key exists.
Does anyone know how to take a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical to bits so I can see if I can fix it? Suggestions other than “stick a screwdriver in it”… I can do that myself…
I don’t want to have to get a new one… and it was fine yesterday…
On the underside of the mouse, there are four black oval pads. Microsoft has thoughfully put the screws that hold the mouse together under the rear two pads. You can use a knife or small screwdriver to pry those off and get at the screws. Once your repairs are complete, glue the pads back in place and you should be in business again.
Even if you can’t fix it, you’ll still get to experience the joy of ripping a microsoft product to pieces.
Thanks for that. It would appear the button is suffering from “plastic fatigue” so it no longer pops up after you click it, and just rests on the plastic below.
