Hi,
I’m appealing to the tattooed sub group that I know exsists in this forum.
My daughter is buying me my next (3rd) tattoo for my 40th birthday at the end of November. I want to get a small gecko/lizard that will go just above (or below, whichever way you think of it) my toes and up my foot a bit. I’d like it to be bright in colour. I have looked on web and not found one that I liked yet. Anyone have any ideas where I could get a nice representation of a gecko/lizard - quite small - for my tattoo?
I went to MSN Search, typed in gekko, clicked search, then clicked the “images” link. That brought up lots of different images, some of which were relevant, and some that were not (there must be a type of watch called a gekko, as there were lots of pictures of watches).
I’ve been thinking about getting a triskelion with “QUOCUNQUE JECERIS STABIT (“Whithersoever you will throw it, it stands”)” on my thigh at the end of this year (Senior trip to CanCun, Mexico!). I think this tattoo has meaning, but I still have some more thinking to do.
Does a gecko mean anything to you, or are they just cool?
why not think about what colors you like (I’ve always liked the lizards that were orange with small green spots), and have the artists give you some ideas. Choose a real tattoo artist, and look at other lizards he’s done.
Yeah, here in the USA there are extreme tattoo artists, who have covered my friend’s arms with extensive scenes in many colors, from his imagination. It would be dull for a guy like that to just copy something you brought in.
My friend wears a long sleeve shirt and no one at work knows…
I’ve found most tattoo artists quite like it when you bring something in. It seems that they find it dull to do a pic you’ve picked from their catalogue. Especially as that butterfly/heart/tribal has been picked for the n-th time this week.
Back to Cathwood’s gecko.
Do you want a coloured gecko almost in ‘cartoon’ style?
Simmilar to the pic posted by burjzyntski earlier in the thread?
Or are you looking at something more stylised, simmilar to the one posted by Tomblackwood, but just done in colour?
google for leopard gecko pcitures. lots of neat ones come up and maybe take a few pics of real lizards into your artist. i’m sure with a bit of work he or she can come up with something you’ll like. leopard geckos come in a crazy variety of color/patterns.
