My new ride a 700c special and the M mud factor

Just tested my new uni machine. with highly pleasing results.

For those that are interested it consists of:

T250 Mavic 700c rim
Double-butted spokes
suze hub
panaracer 45 cyclo-cross tyre.
OWO Custom frame

Dispite not being a lot bigger than the 24x3 it’s suprising how much difference it makes. It’s just that bit quicker and man is it light!
I plan to use it in enduro bike events where I need something more nimble than a coker. ie sleepless in the saddle etc. That said I think i’ll do a few trial laps of the mayhem circuit and see what sort of times I pull in.

I was afraid that the skinny tyre would make the ride too harsh and not have enough grip, it is harsh but once i got used to it it really cuts through the wet slop well. M number of 7-8

For those of you that don’t know it I wrote these down after riding with Joe M on the Muddy Muni Weekend

Number Description Characteristics
0 Dry Tyre not wet, perhaps dusty

2 Damp Tyre glistens
3 Slight Mud Tyre has light mud coating
