95% of people I see on the trail or whatever have good, positive things to say. But for those really obnoxious, stupid, UNfunny, dumbass comments that some people make-and think they’re being funny and original- I present them with this card: :p:D (of course I’ll do it with a smile and good humor, lol!)
Terry, take out the “Just out of reach…” text.
A) If you have to explain it, it loses its impact.
B) That kid is way more than “just” out of reach.
Ok, but that’s how I found it in a google image search. But I think the “just out of reach” part is sarcasm, since it’s waaay out of reach. Kinda like when someone misses something by a mile, and you say, “that was close”.
I think its good, keep a few in your wallet.
Thats a good idea
Don’t ha ve a wallet! I’ll carry them in my front pocket; even easier to hand out.
Yesh! The “humor-challenged” MUST be stopped! Actually I made a similar card a long time ago but I can’t find the thread. (I’m sure someone else will haha)
I hate to be a party-pooper and poop on your idea, but I know that Kris Holm, our ambassador-extraordinaire, would never do such a thing. Just ignore the stupid comments. No need to add ill-will to their failed social encounter. No need to turn them into unicyclist-haters.
Haha never! I have converted more people from bikes to unis than I can count! And I get hundreds of emails, pms and even calls from people from across the country, asking for advice and help with getting started with riding and I am always happy and enthusiastic to help!
I often stop and chat with people on the trail, the beach or wherever I’m riding. I love talking with people and I too, consider myself an “ambassador” of our sport as well. And the only card I ever actually hand out my “UniGeezer.com” card.
The overwhelming majority of people are very positive in their comments, and even those few who do use those overused cliches are usually nice as well, and I always turn those encounters into a good laugh so it’s all good!
Terry you need to have a kid soon
I’ve already got my hands full trying to raise a kid now…me!
Yeah but when you die in 30 or 40 years you gotta have someone fully trained to carry on your legacy
I wonder who that would be???
[QUOTE=MuniAddict;1190716I have converted more people from bikes to unis than I can count! [/QUOTE]
I thought (apparently incorrectly) that you could probably count higher than this.
I think I might actually use this card. I’ll re-photoshop it a bit to clean it up a bit, but I like how it is done.
Humor: the most important weapon in your arsenal. (Read between the big white words of the title!)
haha funny
The hammer of truth, great idea!
I know how to get rid of the “just out of reach” text without losing the impact: find another photo of a kid (or anyone) really straining to reach for something, this kid looks like he could just as well be leaning on the wall waiting for dad to put his shoes on or something.
