My Hi-I'm-New-To-The-Forum post

Like the subject suggests, I just signed up for an account today so hi.

I’ve been unicycling for a little more than 2 years now but am recently slightly more active in trying out for trials. I’m using a 24" uni and I’ll get around to putting up videos and stuff as soon as I progress past the falling all over the place stage.

But yeah, hello all and I hope there’s fun to be had here.

welcome-us fluxus. seriously though, welcome to the forum! so what kind of unicycling do you do?

Currently it’s the regular try-to-avoid-falling sort. But I’m falling kinda miserably. It’s more trials and hockey than anything else nowadays. I wish I had a 20" though :frowning: I’m not strong enough to hop around properly on a 24.

hello and welcome.

Can’t think of anything else to say, so just “Hi”.

Cathy

hmm
2 years and youre still struggling w/ the hopping
how are you trying to hop??

welcome! one less of them and one more of us(at least on the forums(I just had to say that))

welcome one and everyone!
For gild:
One more of us and one less of them.

I can hop on the spot, just not high enough and i haven’t the guts to actually hop up objects mainly because the 24" wheel looks waaay too intimidating. I used to have a 20" one which I learnt on but that got stolen…

As for what I’m doing currently, I’m trying to learn the seat drag, improving slowly but surely, learnt to be fluid with one-foot riding, learning to wheelwalk… generally safe things that don’t involve lifting myself and the uni off the ground. I’m ok with bruises but a little wary of breaking bones.

You know, so many people say that “for” Dave, that it’s not really his thing anymore.

Anyway, welcome to the forums, Flux! (Or fora, as some of the old folks will try to tell us)

Oh…ok

A man after my own heart.
Where do you play?

GILD: I play in Singapore with the local uni community… I think some of them frequent here as well.

monkeyman: Yea I know it sounds weird but I have taken a bunch of nasty falls before and I’m more willing to try out moves where I know what sort of injuries to expect.

That said, the most memorable fall I had was when I just started to uni. I missed the pedals completely and tried to land properly but my pedals had other plans and whacked my shins causing me to fall back. But I couldn’t break my fall because the seat moved back under my butt and I ended up having what would be the handle of the seat shoved between my legs as I fell on it.
