My first major, um, unplanned dismount

Well, I am still learning and up till last night, my dismounts were more or less
in control.

On my third attempt to ride for the night, POW. Got my knee ripped up, my elbow
ripped up, hit my shoulder on the pavement and knocked the wind out of me. Also
the mental aspect of being overly cautious for my next couple of outings.

Nothing life threatening, but…

I guess I will go ahead and get those knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, and I
believe one of those helmets that extreme roller bladers wear as it has better
side and rear protection then standard bike helmets that are designed for
primarily forward impacts. At least until I get confident enough to ride without
the likelihood of a self imposed accident. :sunglasses:

Very enjoyable newsgroup.
