Here’s my first ever aerial drone video, with footage shot 7/13/14 by Patrick Peralta, using his awesome DJI Phantom Quadcopter! His flying skills are amazing, as his his precision, smooth contriol!
Riding my KH 36er unicycle on the beach bike path in Redondo beach, also riding UP some stairs, and then hopping up a humongous flight of 68 stairs on the same 36er! That took more out of me than 3 climbs up Fargo Street! At the end where the drone pulls up & away is just magnificent!
Watch in 720 hd in full screen to get full effect! This was only a first effort, and the next MUni video we are planning to shoot with his drone and also steadicam will be EPIC!
What did that guy walking down the stairs think was going to happen? He didn’t even start walking down until 2:15 when Terry was halfway up. It looked like he got about 8 steps down when he realized he wasn’t going to be able to pass him. Went up about two before going over the railing instead of just going back up the remaining 6 steps. At least he wasn’t a big jerk about it.
I should feel less bad when I do oblivious things as a pedestrian. I should do more of them.
Oh, and the video was nifty. But, then, we expect that from Terry. The quadcopter camerawork adds nicely to it.
On a side note: Is there “drone insurance” ? What would that even fall under?
As prices keep dropping, more drones will be flying and more accidents will happen. Right now, would any insurance cover it?
That drone video is incredable! A new era in videos, never thought I’d see live action shots like those made so simply. Yes, that pilot must have been skillful.
And then you hoping up all those stairs is just imposible, your special effects editing is seamless. Always amazing there Terry!
ok, it’s just hard to imagine anyone actually hoping up all those stairs. Much less on a 36. Yeah, I said “Wow!” out loud several times.
