Hey everyone,
Just recently i loaded up my pushbike with paniers and a tent and went for an end of school adventure. Over 8 days i rode along beaches, national park roads, small country lanes and the pacific highway from Byron bay to Taree. The trip was about 600k’s long and was done on a shoestring budget. If you get the chance the northern parts of Australia’s east coast are spectacular. Beaches that streatch as far as the eye can see, national parks with new and exotic incects to be bitten by (as well as the sets of waterfalls and creeks from which they spring). The people are real characters- if you know where to look. A free meal and a shout at the pub are always on offer at the small caravan parks dotted along the coast with seniors who live there permanently. Unicycling is really tops, but for the sheer logistical fact of shifting lots of gear adn travelling long distances in a day, nothing can beat a well ballanced, oiled up mountain bike.
