Well, a couple of decades makes a difference. In reference to THIS POST I saw “Annie Hall” again recently and found it to be hilarious. I stand corrected. I had forgotten that that was the one in which the writer was taken from off stage and asked to evaluate the literary opinion of the arts professor trying to impress his date while standing in line at the movies. Many other scenes from the movie were extremely funny. Recognizing some of the locations in New York helped to set the context for me better. I also thought that “Sleeper” was my favorite of the older Woody Allen movies but was disappointed by it this time.
Greg, as taste is a personal matter, there is no need for an apology here. I’m glad you liked Annie Hall on a second viewing. Sleeper is one of Allen’s movies that though it has a story does rely on slapstick routines for its humor and so is a bit disjointed and forced. Still it’s quite funny in my opinion.
