One word: Rush. YYZ or La Villa Strangiato are pretty impressive. Not exactly hardcore metal stuff, but rock, and fast, and better than crap like Slipknot.
Buzzcocks - Ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn’t have fallen in love with. More power pop than real rock, but the guitar riff, the drums and the vocals work together to kick the song along better than any other I know. I still turn the stereo up an extra couple of notches for this one track, nearly 30 years after I bought the single.

For really fast hard rock, almost anything by Motörhead: Bomber, Overkill. Seen 'em live 3 times. Absolutely amazing. Real rock and roll with no silly frills or gimmicks.
They tell me Link Wray’s ‘Rumble’ really rocked.
I don’t know why everyone always suggests Slipknot. I really don’t think they’re that great.
If you want a fast, rockin’ song, you could try Metallica’s Fight Fire with Fire.

Maybe not the most listenable, but relentlessly fast guitar playing.
For that purpose - what about some Chuck Berry. Reelin’and a Rockin’ for example. Not the hard rock riffs you were looking for, but I can hear it working to a film clip of unicycling.
Or something more modern? I was listening to some Electric Frankenstein in the car today. Some good stuff there.
Or what about some Sex Pistols. Anarchy in the UK? Pretty Vacant?
