Thought this should be moved, but since I’m not a moderator I had to repost it.
My name is Ben Turley, I’m 17 years old, and some friends and I have finished editing video we made called ‘mUNIac.’ We’ve only been unicycling for a few months now, but we have a lot of fun, and I think it shows in the video. A web version of the video is available at:
This is a really awesome video, and well worth the download. It has some good clips, and good spills in it. On top of that it has a truley awesome soundtrack with tunes by Jimmy Eat World - Sweetness, and Unwritten Law - Seein’ Red.
Although yet again it reminds me of the great unfairness in life - there they are with all their funky walls, random concrete lumps and the like, everything you might ever need… and here’s me, with a few benches, and most of them are either too high / look like they’d collapse.
I can’t wait to go back to York… a lot of the older bits of campus is just a concrete jungle - perfect!
My poor ISDN 56 K modem has just start to download the big version…
When I’ll watch the video (in october…:o ) I’ll post something else.
Anyway, thank you for the work you’ve made, and good luck for your neck!
That was great! Production value was high- and flowed better than some of the pro-jobs. The ‘regular’ resolution of the flick was good (the server was none too generous with bandwidth) and they offer it in 3 formats. It was neet to see a bit of one rider doing a walk through on a fence.
Only complaint was a destinctive lack of protection- get some armour! (then send more film).
I’ve been getting lots of traffic to http://www.muniac.tk and I’m in the process of trying to upload the videos to the unicyclist.com gallery. If any of you have the means of hosting a temporary mirror of the page (and video), please contact me (benturley@hotmail.com).
Excellent. Very good production, I’ve watched the 56k version (from http://www.unicyclist.com/gallery/muniacthemovie) and I’m so impressed I’m going to get the higher quality one. Only one thing it lacked – protection.
Oh yeah, that was good. Scary falls, but very good. Congratulations on a professional looking video, too bad it wasn’t longer. I think I’ll go practice now.

It sure must. But those guys aren’t worried, they don’t need helmets or
pads!
The video was real nice to watch. Hard to compete with the likes of
Universe, but this one shows a more attainable set of skills for the many up
and coming trials riders out there.
“This unicycle is made all from lightweight materials. But it uses a lot of
them.” – Cliff Cordy, describing the very heavy new prototype unicycle he
brought on the Downieville Downhill
In case anyone was wondering, the fall (off the roof) in the credits was just a dummy we made to look like a person - the quick cuts from and to Harrison Smith might have had you convinced
That was an excellent and entertaining video. Thanks for posting the link and thanks even more for taking the time to make it. Alot of work went into that and you guys are pretty much giving it to us for free entertainment. It’s an outstanding piece of work done with essentially zero budget which makes it even more impressive. Please make more if you have the time and inclination.

Fall off. Very quickly.
I’ve had a couple of almost ouchy bashes recently and neither of them hurt
much because I fell off before I really hit hard. Hopefully if a crank
snapped, you’d have loads too much weight on the other pedal making the
unicycle fly backwards and you fall off forwards before you hurt yourself
really really painfully.
I think there should be a name for this kind of crash if there isn’t
already, can I nominate ‘bollock bash’, ‘testicle-grab’ or UPC (un-planned
castration)?
Wicked video, very stylish filming and some absolutely mad riding there,
can’t wait to see what you guys will be up to in a years time.
