Since messages have been relatively quiet about this year’s California Mountain
Unicycle Weekend, I thought I’d shoot out my own personal hotel information.
Yes, there is a 1999 MUni Weekend, this year in Santa Cruz. Shame on you if you
didn’t already know about it! It should be bigger and better than ever. It is
being hosted by high-impact MUniers Bruce Bundy and David Poznanter. T-shirts by

The hotel information there is a bit vague, but I have just made a reservation
at the local Inn Cal, which is only a few blocks from the Bruce/David house, in
the middle of Santa Cruz and also not far from the Boardwalk and beach.
This place is not really big, so the time is now to make your reservations! I
was charged $54.95 +tax per night, for Oct. 15 and 16. This was a single room.
That’s a pretty good rate for Santa Cruz! Call 1-800-550-0055 to reserve.
Another option is the Super 8, within walking distance of the Boardwalk but
farther from the crash house, I have stayed at this Super 8 before and it’s
fine. Their number is 1-800-800-8000.
