Muni tires

We’re about to stock up on Kenda tires, to sell on UnicycleSource.com. We
already offer the high-end Continental and Coker brands; Kenda will give us a
broader range. Does anyone have any experience with the Kenda brand, and is
there a favorite tread pattern among muni riders? If you can locate and attach a
GIF file, we will appreciate it.

Thank you,

John Drummond, Partner www.UnicycleSource.com

Re: Muni tires

I’ve found that stiff tire sidewalls are a major advantage for MUni tires
(increased lateral stability, less chance for pinch flats). Does Kenda make any
mountain bike tires with reinforced sidewalls?

Well, speaking on behalf of the “roadies” out there, I hope you also get the
Kenda 24 x 1.75 whitewall like the one that came on my Schwinn. I really like
the tread pattern on it. It looks like it was designed for a unicycle, even
though I don’t see any marking on it to indicate that. The tread pattern is a
regular series of rectanglular pads that run around the tire and well up the
side for cornering When new, there was no protruding center ridge of flash like
you normally see on a bicycle tire.

Over the weekend I saw some trials riders using the Kenda Kinetic Kevlar
bead 2.35" tires on their stock bikes. It looked like a really good urban
trials/general cross-country MUni tire. I think that this would be a good
one to stock.
